~Procedure when you cannot access the PC's serial (COM) port~

Depending on the state of your PC, you may not be able to access the PC's serial (COM) port from our Windows applications. Find out which process is using the COM port and stop that process. To find out which process is using the serial (COM) port, follow the steps below.

1. Download the Process Explorer tool.
   
   
2. Open "Ports (COM & LPT)" from Device Manager, right-click the target device and select Properties.
   
   
3. Select the Details tab, select "Service" from the Property (P) options, and note down the value displayed here.
   
   
4. Open the Process Explorer you downloaded in step 1 and select “Find Handle or DLL…” from the menu.
   
   
   
5. Enter the value noted in step 3 into "Handle or DLL substring" and click the "Search" button.
   From the results displayed, identify which process is using the serial port and stop the target process.
